The Anglican Church is the daughter church to St Cuthbert’s Church in Churchtown and was finally consecrated in 1868. The foundation stone was laid in 1866. However, there was an Anglican presence in Banks as early as 1830.As money became available the building progressed and was completed in 1867. In 1968, in its centenary year, a new spire was added. In the grounds there is a Garden of Rest, which was started in 1977 where people could scatter the ashes of their loved ones. A memorial to both world wars is placed on the front lawn with the names of the fallen.
